Fixed Orthodontic Appliance

Fixed orthodontic appliance is the most commonly used and most effective method for directing and correctly positioning teeth in the dental arch. It consists of metal or ceramic brackets that are attached to the teeth and connected with a wire (arch) that applies gentle force, gradually moving the teeth to the correct position.

When recommended

  • Narrow arch or irregular bite (overbite, underbite, crossbite)
  • Spaces between teeth (diastema)
  • Incorrect jaw positions

Types of fixed appliances

  • Traditional metal – stronger and more economical
  • Ceramic or transparent – more aesthetic and less visible
  • Self-ligating systems – more comfortable, with less pressure and fewer visits

Benefits

  • Precise and controlled tooth alignment
  • Improvement in aesthetics and bite function
  • Long-term and stable results
  • Improvement in oral hygiene and periodontal health in the long term

Result

Fixed orthodontic appliance is placed and monitored by the orthodontic specialist, who determines the treatment plan according to the individual needs of the patient, to achieve the ideal smile and perfect tooth function.
